The Brady Board of Education was recognized with the Board of Excellence Award during the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) Area Meeting held September 2 in North Platte.
This prestigious recognition honors school boards across Nebraska that demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development, effective leadership, and the ongoing success of their school districts. The Brady Board of Education has now earned this high honor for the second consecutive year, reflecting the board's continued dedication to Brady Public Schools and its students, staff, and community.
To earn the Board of Excellence designation, board members must meet several professional development and leadership requirements. Each board member must attain a minimum of the Level I Award, the board must have a member participate in the annual NASB Delegate Assembly, and each board member must attend at least two NASB conferences or workshops. In addition, the board must hold an annual retreat focused on reviewing and working toward specific board goals.
Several Brady board members were also individually recognized for their professional development accomplishments:
- Ryan Stearns – Level VIII Award
- Sara Gentry – Level IV Award
- Necole Miller – Level III Award
These awards represent much more than certificates or recognition at an annual meeting. They reflect the time, commitment, and dedication that Brady Board of Education members give to their roles. Serving on a school board requires countless hours of meetings, professional learning, difficult conversations, thoughtful decision-making, and a willingness to continually learn and grow as educational leaders.
